Wednesday, May 13, 2009--12:55 AM ^_^;; Okay, so the last page of that "GA is Done" thing is up now. Well, last two pages. Oh, I never put the update up for the first one, did I? Well, that's up too. So, yeah, that's good 'n' shit. So, go to the Group Anthrax page and look at it, and shit. Or not. Though, if you're not gonna, I really gotta wonder what you're doin' on this site. I mean, nearly all our content is comics 'n' shit. I dunno why you'd come here to not look at a comic. It's funny, even. Or, I like it. 'Course, I'm biased, being as I made it. And I think I'M HILARIOUS. So there.
Yeah, pages didn't go up on time, cuz of crazy killer storm in Carbondale. We're talking about like, massive, mature, old oaks completely uprooted, and just sheared power line poles. It was hardcore, man. 100 mile an hour winds and shit. Some crazy bullshit. So, that's what happened with that. I just got back to Barrington last night, and when I left C'dale at about noon there was still no power. Fun times, fun times. And people thought the hail from the night before was bad...^_^ yeah, that was pretty epic. Anyway, next project: up next, we've got Setsuna and Ornexos and The Brain, which is fully written, and clocks in at twenty single-panel pages. Which will be a nice change of pace after 3 years of GA, which I pretty much only had a rough idea of where it was going, until Take 3, wherein I just got tired of its bullshit. So, Setsuna and Ornexos and The Brain is an adaptation of something I originally did for my Psychology class in high school, a...I believe it was twenty seven page thing (again, single panel pages), called Setsuna's Brain. It was actually what I developed Setsuna for in the first place. That reminds me, I've got some shit in old sketchbooks where he did things. There's even this one filler page I don't think I ever put into GA...well, eventually I'll get them all into the Sketchbooks. That'll be good. So, yeah. Setsuna's Brain, that was fun. I threw Setsuna together at that time as a rip on Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, thrown into a children's book thing for a Psych project: make a kid's book about the brain. ^_^ So, I did. With a rip on Nny, and a Gir re-color. Out of that project was Setsuna born, to develop his own character...of sorts. Over the years, he's been my guinea pig. Whenever I've had a school project in which I needed a quick, easy-to-draw character, I've pulled him out to do it with--eventually alongside Ornexos, who came from a scrapped, horrible script that never went anywhere. Eventually, the pair got thrown into fillers, and both characters have had time in the limelight of the site banner. I've got two DWS Shop icons starring the two of them, and in my mind, they're the mascots of DWS. Though it really doesn't show. So, I'd been drawing in my sketchbook a lot, trying to put together a new style--quicker, truer to my roots then the Amerime I've been spewing for years and, as always, using Setsuna as my guinea pig for much of it. In the meantime, I'd pulled out Setsuna's Brain, and the idea I'd had to finish it (one page never got fully penciled and inked, two pages never got drawn at all), and the thoughts I'd flirted with previously to re-do it, updated with Ornexos in the place of the Gir re-color...and eventually I cranked out the script. So, after finding a style I could live with (see GA is Done, With Setsuna and Ornexos), I started penciling. Currently, the first five pages are ready to be scanned, and the sixth is mostly finished. I don't know when this series will start updating--I really want to have it finished before I start posting this go-round, for a few reasons: One) I'll be able to actually maintain an update schedule, two) I'll be free to work ahead on the next project, with minimal downtime between S & O and The Brain and it, three) it's just something completely different from how I've worked before, and I want to try it. So, there's all that. Again, don't know when it'll be ready to start posting, though I know I won't even be able to scan this bullshit until I'm back in Carbondale. Which won't be until June 7. BUT! None of that really matters anyway, cuz it's not like I have a fanbase of any sort. I really should make it more obvious that I'm more writing these things for me. Ah, well. I forget, sometimes. ^_^ Hence the delusions joke in the first page of GA is Done, With Setsuna and Ornexos. Fun times, fun times. Anyway, enough of this bullshit. |

Wednesday, January 28, 2009--8:11 PMAck...okay, not done with even this part of the project, but I'm done coding for the night. I've been at this...for at least five hours. So:
Changed the font! Now, instead of that weird font apparently only Macs have, we've got Times New Roman. So, yeah. And that's just the first thing! (I did some fiddling with the Linkage and FAQ, but that's all minimal) So! I started this project a few months ago, which, when I'm done will phase out my gallery, and replace it with...well, every sketchbook I've ever had. Um...to give you a feel of the scale--I'm currently on sketchbook 11. And the third sketchbook had 52 pages. And...they get fuller as I go along. And that's not to mention the napkins, and random drawings I've hung on to over the years that I've yet to add or scan. SO! This is rather an...extensive undertaking. So, I've got the first three sketchbooks scanned and uploaded, and filed into the new "Sketchbook" sections. So, the first two sketchbooks fully have comments, and everything, the third--not all of them have comments yet. ^_^ I'd finish with those tonight, but I am so fucking sick of looking at code...you have no idea. |

I can't believe how little I've been updating the site lately. Guess I got overcome by apathy. It happens. Yeah...yeah... ^_^So, GA's back, better than ever, and I never even hinted at it online. *shrug* Because I'm sure the hoards of fans will be soooo disappointed. Eh, maybe I'll finally end up updating enough that I'll feel justified to advertise. Wouldn't that be awesome? I gotta set up a store, too. Tuesday, October 28, 2008--9:34 PMWow, it's been nearly a month since I did a site update. Though, strangely enough, this isn't the only time I've done something. Yeah, I fiddled with the Linkage page earlier this month. Nothing huge, just a general update.
As for what I did today: ^_^ I made the Video Gallery all nice. Previously, it had been in the same style of thumbnail-type-things as the Invasion Gallery, the Photo Gallery, and my Gallery. Yeah, not the greatest set-up for videos. Well, hopefully they'll be more accessible now, and I'll finish editing the stuff we've already shot and finally get it up here. Cuz, I mean, shit, the last thing up here is the "Plans to Fix the World" shit...there's actually another finished one I could still post, and might...the end is funny. Eh, I dunno. Lazy. The funny thing is, the one I haven't posted up here is pretty topical, being about the election (of course, it was topical when it was made in May, too...now the information's outdated. Haha, fun...), eh, I dunno. I was actually editing videos just this evening too. ^_^ I reeeallly want to get some quality shit up here in that department. As is, it's pretty pathetic. Ack. |

But, waitaminit..."Thirty days hath...September...? April, June and November..." There IS no September 31! HA! I'm such an idiot! ^_^ So, yeah. I went through my first two classes today dating my notes "Sep. 31, 2008--Wed." cuz, I date my notes and stuff (well, actually, I don't take notes in my second class...cuz, I draw instead. I figure, if I take the Powerpoints off the interwebs and study for the tests 'n' quizzes, I'll do fine...and be less pissed off than when I was actually trying to take notes in that class...with the excessively fast-ness, and the notes being straight out of the book in the first place, and the stupid...yeah.)--and didn't realize that September 31 doesn't exist, and that it's actually October 1 until my third class. So, after that, since I was writing stuff on my hand that I gotta do today, I put that on there too, as something funny and silly to post up here. So, here we are. Me, posting a random news-post-blog thing, about being calendrically incompetent. Oddly enough, apparently "calendrical" is a word, or, at least according to Apple Dictionary it is. Though it doesn't actually have its own entry. It's just a subset under the "calender" entry. The adjective version of the word. So, I turned it into and adverb to get "calendrically." It is of note, that if I hadn't found an excuse to use "calendrically," I would have switched to "temporally incompetent." Which, though I really like that turn of phrase, and love the word "temporal"...it wasn't what I wanted for the sentence. Wow, this post is silly. And silly in a serious manner as well. Gods! Um, as for actual site news...I got nothin'. Well, sorta. The scripts on GA have suddenly gotten stuck. Um, it's not entirely my fault, either! Yassee, a few days ago, Spencer went back and edited a few of his earlier posts about what Scarr and Zero had been doing (PLUPERFECT!...what is it with me and...shit, brain fart...what's a word for literary shit that would encompass my "calendrically" rant and tense-spotting...being a Latin geek?)...and, though some of it worked perfectly with what I'd set up, other things are throwing me off. On top of that, I'm getting to the end of the pages of actual script I've made--ordering the forum posts (cuz that's where we write the comic) into a coherent script I can follow when planning comics. Which, I have gotten a good thirteen pages out of what I've got, and really, there are quite a few more pages in my little script-packet, but I'm to a point where everything has to tie in to one another, or it won't make sense. And yes, I realize that "where everything has to tie in to one another," doesn't make sense in and of itself, but whatever. So, that's what's going on with that. A snarl of writing which is stopping penciling, currently. So, I'll fix that, and everything will be happy, but in the meantime, that's what's happening. Also, this week's really crazy, and I'm going back up North this weekend, to go to Fright Fest, see everyone and get my kitty. ^_^ Yay, kitty! Anyway, I had McDonald's today, and now my ass wants to explode, so that's quite enough of this. |

Sunday, August 31, 2008--5:35 PM^_^ I totally forgot to update here earlier, but the new page of Group Anthrax is up now! Page ten, and stuff. I totally finished it last night, watchin' Labyrinth everyone is totally gay for Bowie. ^_^ Yep, totally. ^_^ Fun and stuff.
^_^ Speaking of sitting around bullshitting in front of the idiot box, I'm totally watchin' Hercules on Toon Disney right now. Totally shit-tastic and doesn't reflect Greek mythology at all, but it's an interesting movie, and the music is good. ^_^ And I like Pegasus a lot. He's all awesome and stuff. But really, the mythology is shitty. I mean, Hercules' Greek name is "Heracles," he's totally not the son of Zeus and Hera, Pegasus was born when Perseus chopped off Medusa's head (in all three versions I've read...well, the ones that are reputable) and was ridden by Bellerophon, Hades was actually a not shitty guy--and it was Hera that fucked with Heracles anyway, he did have a wife of the same name that "Meg" is supposed to...and killed her (and his kids too, if I remember right) in a fit of rage...he was prone to fits of rage...also he was an idiot. Yeah...none of that in the movie happened. Disney's dumb like that. Taken as itself, it's just interesting, but the Classics nerd in me gets damn irate. Even though I love Pegasus in it. |

Saturday, August 2, 2008--2:12 PMWheee-oooh. A news post. One to let youse guys know I'm not yet dead. Horray, and stuff, yes? Eh, you don't care.
So, the only thing I've done since that last news post was fix the date. I'd set the year at 2007 instead of 2008. ^_^;; Heh. Hideyori was all for me leaving the date wrong to fuck with people, but, I figured we'd do well not to look more defunct than we are. Of course, I'm still typing a new random update thing. So, I'm done with work for the summer. My last day was July 31st. ^_^ Joy. My boss gave me a cake, it was adorable. The cake was too sugary for my taste, but I really appreciated the gesture, it was so sweet. So, yeah, that, and Hide showed up just before it was time for me to clock out, and that was awesome...they don't usually visit me. In fact, they've only tried once...^_^ and that time I was hanging out with our friend Mer while she worked in one of the stores across they way, so we never met. *shrug* But that's the way it goes. So, I finished working, and got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. That was fun. I'm not really sore at all, and that's after not taking my pain-killers today. I still feel kinda out of it, but that's probably a combination of the 12 hours of sleep I got, not moving around enough, and still being a bit malnourished after not being able to eat anything except jello and chicken stock yesterday. Plus I think my mouth's still bleeding a bit, so everything gets combined with the blood taste. I don't mind the taste of blood, but it doesn't taste good with eggs. Just thought you might be curious. So, in actual site news, I've finished the most recent page, though I've been waiting to put it up until the next page is inked. Really, it's the page I'm in the process of inking that's played a large role in comic stopping. It's all stuff that relies on interaction with the background, and that's always a bit daunting to tackle. Still, with the exception of two panels (which are rough sketches I intend to redo once the inking of everything else is done), the page is fully penciled. I've started inking, and hopefully will do more today. So, horray and stuff. Also, just to get this out of the way now, I'm going on family vacation to Florida again on the fifth, won't be back 'til the twelfth. 'Course, then I leave for Southern on the sixteenth, and the first day of class is the eighteenth. Good times, good times. |

Well, I did do stuff today, but for the moment, something presses greater on my mind. See, after I did the stuff I did (one of these things was simply to change the main headers' alignments from left to center...'course then I started going through all the comic pages to make the headers look all pretty), when I was checking all the pages to make sure nothing looks shitty, or broken, due to the stuff I did, I ended up reading some of the old site archives. Some of them are bad memories...especially since the two people I talked about most back in the spring of 2006 (which is the time of most of the archives I was reading) are the two people I no longer talk to, and in varying degrees feel betrayed by. Still, the archives themselves are fun to read, and have made a few things blatantly obvious. One, the archives now suck. They're boring, they have no personality, there's not purpose to them, really, other than to say: "Oh, hey, this happened." Most of the time, they're a sentence long, and that sentence isn't even anything worth reading. So, I'm going to talk here more. I was sorta trying to avoid this being a sort of Tsuki-blog, but in all actuality, that's sorta the way it used to be, and that was fun, both to read and to write. I'm a huge proponent of keeping histories. This is a terribly good way to do that. Because even when the good memories get twisted, it's worthwhile to remember how much fun you had before things got fucked. The other thing made so terribly obvious by these archives, is that I've lost a lot of my enthusiasm. Now, take this as you will, be it my "growing up" (ack, scary), the need for my energies to be diverted to other things (true to an extent, but not enough to make up for all the change), sheer laziness (hehe) or simply getting burnt-out (I am tired). I suppose it's simply a combination of these factors. That and I've just allowed my energy to decrease to a lower, less manic level (though it's still pretty manic...I suppose the mania's getting re-directed). Um, I don't know where I'm going with this, my train of thought kinda crashed into a brick wall. Ah, well, right, another point: as far as the burnt-out-ness goes, I don't think it's there yet. I'm worn, but not to a point of badness. ^_^ The funny shit is that I get a lot more good sleep now than I ever did back then. 'Course, I have this penchant for doing ridiculously meticulous, anal coding when I'm sleep-deprived. Don't ask why, I don't have a clue. So, I dunno. I suppose my focus is becoming more split. I'm pursuing more things, and as such am not obsessively working on the same things I did two years ago. 'Course, now I'm not finishing anything...blar. Whatever, fuck it, I'll come back to this discussion, or not...shit, I did not see the irony of that switch until just now..."irony" really is an often ill-used word... Anyway, I changed the header stuff I mentioned before, and also tweaked the filler section of GA, so that the "first" and "most recent" buttons stay within the filler itself, making it into a separate entity within the comic, sorta. Drawing class is kinda kicking my ass lately, I've got a shitload of work to do before the thirtieth. Thursday, December 27, 2007--11:41 PMSo, here I am on a family trip to Florida once again (please note, the time of this post is Illinois time, since my computer clock doesn't change, and that's what I look at--not Florida)--and bored out of my mind. Since I occasionally get pretty damn productive when I'm bored, this can be a good thing...course, that's not to say in what direction my productivity will go.
So, bearing that in mind, we gots two new videos in the video gallery. Ninja Transform starring Suitcase Murphy, and Suitcase in Bucket also starring Suitcase Murphy. Additionally, I played around with Omega Z's Belly Dance, and I'm in the process of adding a third new video. I'm not sure when I'll finish putting it up, but it's uploading as I type this. Nyar. Keep in mind the next GSG has been uploaded for...near a month now and I still haven't put it up. Nyar. So, that's what I'm up to right now. |

Monday, September 17, 2007--11:46 AMZOMG! A new page of Girl - Seeking - Girl is up now! Yepyep, fun times.
So, yeah. I finished that last night, during a power outage in my building. See, at about five or so, the lights in my room, they flicked off, then came back on, all wavering, and no internets working. So, later, when I'm all leaving for my good friend Jill's birthday party, I find out from the Head Resident of the dorm that the whole building was currently running on a generator, and that said generator would be out of power in three hours. Naturally, by the time I get back from the party, the whole building is black as pitch. ^_^ They had a few lanterns set up strategically throughout the hallways and in the bathrooms, but still, no power. So, that was fun. 'Course, at this point, it was about nine o'clock, and I didn't want to go to bed yet. ^_^ So I packed up my shit, hauled my ass to the Student Center, and had both page twelve of GSG and page thirty seven of GA done by eleven. ^_^ Hehe, "Thirty-seven!?" ^_^ "eleven..." Yatta. So, yes. So goes my wonderful story. Group Anthrax will go up on Thursday, as I try to, yanno, get back to a schedule again. Blah. |

So far, I've written five strips, and finished the first. Actually, that's the reason I went to bed at 3:30 last night...heh, it's funny, cuz I was "just gonna do this one thing real quick" at about 1:07...next thing I knew, it was 3:25. Monday, December 4, 2006--10:15 PM^_^ Not a huge deal, but I've been going through the pages of GA, and changing all the fonts to a common one. ^_^ Yepyep, because, my handwriting's kinda hard to read, and I don't like the font I'd used for the first several pages.
Also, Omega Z, I don't mean to nitpick, but unless we get some scripts for the next several pages done soon, I won't be able to get any pages up over winter break. I won't have my scanner up there. |

Saturday, November 25, 2006--2:26 AM^_^ So, page twenty-two is up for Group Anthrax! ^_^ Yay us! ^_^ I'm happy, two updates, two weeks in a row...God I hope that's not a record so far. Please tell me I've done better than that! ^_^ Haha, it's funny tho'. I realized the other day that I chose GA's launch really, really poorly, being right before Thanksgiving, originally. I was doomed not to update over Christmas, even tho' I'd tried. So, right from the start, we were rocky. Then I couldn't take the look of the comic, and the redux began, and ultimately the re-write, but before that, it took me how long to get page four up? That was all a result of dead computers and switching from PC to Mac and not having Photoshop (or any image-editing software with which I could enter text), but still, it was a really frustrating time, full of finished page (well, nearly finished), and nothing to do with it. I...don't remember if I worked ahead at that time, either. Probably not. But still, that was a hugely big time for me, it's kinda amazing that GA didn't die then. Hell, it's amazing that I don't remember really considering killing the project either (whether I did or not is dubious, I just don't remember). Group Anthrax has survived some crazy shit. ^_^ Hah, but here we are, at only twenty-two canon pages!

So, I'm gonna reduce/increase updates to one per week for this year. ^_^;; Hehe... But yeah, so, on the twenty-fourth Group Anthrax will have been online for a year. Eeek! |

Friday, November 3, 2006--4:00 PM^_^;; Well, I did put an update up for Group Anthrax...but it is another Omake Theatre. I just didn't get page twenty one done in time, and am now getting swamped by projects. Hopefully, I'll get at least one actual page update up next week, but at this point, what I'm really focusing on is my college shit. So, I'm really sorry 'bout this, hopefully it'll pass quickly. ^_^ I really want to get back into the regular pages... a lot. I WANT TO GET TO THE PART WHERE THE CHANGE STARTS TAKING EFFECT!

Monday, October 2, 2006--11:22 AM^_^;; Heh-heh. So, page twenty of GA isn't up yet. Nooo...instead, a filler page using the school project I stayed up doing last night. Soo...yeah. Um, I'm thinking of downgrading from one actual comic-post on Wednesdays and one fill-page Sundays. Yeah, so, comment, tell me what you think as far as that goes. I'm only gonna be able to do one actual page update per week (unless I do something like put up the page with just my original pencil-sketches with only borders and speech-boxes done up nice). So, the question is, do you want an extra-page-thingy and one actual page, or just the actual page? Discuss.

It's nearly done now, just have highlights and background for the last panel to do. ^_^;; I've been doing it all with my tablet, not something I'll be doing again, but good to try. From here on, I think I'm gonna sketch it in pencil, then finish it via the computer. I'll also start doing them in color now, too. It's honestly the same amount of work for me to color as to use greyscale now, so, w00t. |

I typed that as one word on purpose, you know. In other news, WHY DO I LIKE THIS COMIC SO DAMN MUCH!? Yeah, it's called Undead Friend, and is created by NJ Huff. It's about this guy, who meet this ghost and consents to being her friend, only to discover that to be a ghost's "friend" has different connotations...^_^ like periodically changing into a zombie to fight other ghosts and their friends for territory. ^_^ Yep. The art is...not really up to the level I look for, but I really like the characters, and their designs. BUT WHY AM I SO OBSESSED WITH THIS SERIES? I may never know...but I can read it again and again... |

Tuesday, August 29, 2006--10:40 PM^_^ So, the Group Anthrax stand-in page by Shadowgoddess (by the lovely Shadowgoddess) is now up. Don't whine that, "Oh, it's eaaaarrrrrrllllly...", I dun wanna wait an hour and twenty minutes for it to officially be Wednesday. ^_^ Haha, I haven't talked about that sorta thing since the Shorts! ^_^ Funnyfunny.
So, page fifteen is coming along, and...yeah. I've...worked on my homework...^_^ haha, actually, the homework for my drawing class is done, I'll finish the stuff for my "Foundation Studio A" class as soon as I finish this news post, and I've done my initial sketches for the CatalystSwitch art-trade I've got going, so that I should be into pretty well soon. ^_^ Depending on how much sleep I get. Aww, don't worry, I don't have classes Fridays, so all my weekends are long. ^_^ Actually, we have Monday off next week too. I don't have to suffer sleep-deprivation! YAAAYYY!!! I've been doing lotsa work on page thirteen the past few days, hopefully I'll have it done tonight. I finally got a tablet, so, my digital crap is really benefiting from that. I'm still a n00b, but...it's cool, things are working out well with that. Otherwise...I did some more work on the new layout, I think it's almost ready to go. ^_^ Just a few more touches, and it'll be up. Things are going well right now, ^_^ so yay.

Yes, that's right, in a move of amazing speed (for her), Tsuki is actually getting off her ass and doing shit. Shit she has not much of a clue how to do, but shit nevertheless. I dunno when it'll be done, although, so far, I've figured out certain things I was previously worried about much more quickly than I'd thought already.
