What's Going on Here? (id est "Updates")
Saturday, August 2, 2008--2:12 PM Wheee-oooh. A news post. One to let youse guys know I'm not yet dead. Horray, and stuff, yes? Eh, you don't care.
So, the only thing I've done since that last news post was fix the date. I'd set the year at 2007 instead of 2008. ^_^;; Heh. Hideyori was all for me leaving the date wrong to fuck with people, but, I figured we'd do well not to look more defunct than we are. Of course, I'm still typing a new random update thing. So, I'm done with work for the summer. My last day was July 31st. ^_^ Joy. My boss gave me a cake, it was adorable. The cake was too sugary for my taste, but I really appreciated the gesture, it was so sweet. So, yeah, that, and Hide showed up just before it was time for me to clock out, and that was awesome...they don't usually visit me. In fact, they've only tried once...^_^ and that time I was hanging out with our friend Mer while she worked in one of the stores across they way, so we never met. *shrug* But that's the way it goes. So, I finished working, and got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. That was fun. I'm not really sore at all, and that's after not taking my pain-killers today. I still feel kinda out of it, but that's probably a combination of the 12 hours of sleep I got, not moving around enough, and still being a bit malnourished after not being able to eat anything except jello and chicken stock yesterday. Plus I think my mouth's still bleeding a bit, so everything gets combined with the blood taste. I don't mind the taste of blood, but it doesn't taste good with eggs. Just thought you might be curious. So, in actual site news, I've finished the most recent page, though I've been waiting to put it up until the next page is inked. Really, it's the page I'm in the process of inking that's played a large role in comic stopping. It's all stuff that relies on interaction with the background, and that's always a bit daunting to tackle. Still, with the exception of two panels (which are rough sketches I intend to redo once the inking of everything else is done), the page is fully penciled. I've started inking, and hopefully will do more today. So, horray and stuff. Also, just to get this out of the way now, I'm going on family vacation to Florida again on the fifth, won't be back 'til the twelfth. 'Course, then I leave for Southern on the sixteenth, and the first day of class is the eighteenth. Good times, good times. |

Saturday, July 19, 2008--12:06 AM*walks in, looks about, dusts things off, chases crickets* Well, then. Hi. It's been a bit since last anything happened here. Shiiitt...May? Shiiiiit!!!
Well, I did do stuff today, but for the moment, something presses greater on my mind. See, after I did the stuff I did (one of these things was simply to change the main headers' alignments from left to center...'course then I started going through all the comic pages to make the headers look all pretty), when I was checking all the pages to make sure nothing looks shitty, or broken, due to the stuff I did, I ended up reading some of the old site archives. Some of them are bad memories...especially since the two people I talked about most back in the spring of 2006 (which is the time of most of the archives I was reading) are the two people I no longer talk to, and in varying degrees feel betrayed by. Still, the archives themselves are fun to read, and have made a few things blatantly obvious. One, the archives now suck. They're boring, they have no personality, there's not purpose to them, really, other than to say: "Oh, hey, this happened." Most of the time, they're a sentence long, and that sentence isn't even anything worth reading. So, I'm going to talk here more. I was sorta trying to avoid this being a sort of Tsuki-blog, but in all actuality, that's sorta the way it used to be, and that was fun, both to read and to write. I'm a huge proponent of keeping histories. This is a terribly good way to do that. Because even when the good memories get twisted, it's worthwhile to remember how much fun you had before things got fucked. The other thing made so terribly obvious by these archives, is that I've lost a lot of my enthusiasm. Now, take this as you will, be it my "growing up" (ack, scary), the need for my energies to be diverted to other things (true to an extent, but not enough to make up for all the change), sheer laziness (hehe) or simply getting burnt-out (I am tired). I suppose it's simply a combination of these factors. That and I've just allowed my energy to decrease to a lower, less manic level (though it's still pretty manic...I suppose the mania's getting re-directed). Um, I don't know where I'm going with this, my train of thought kinda crashed into a brick wall. Ah, well, right, another point: as far as the burnt-out-ness goes, I don't think it's there yet. I'm worn, but not to a point of badness. ^_^ The funny shit is that I get a lot more good sleep now than I ever did back then. 'Course, I have this penchant for doing ridiculously meticulous, anal coding when I'm sleep-deprived. Don't ask why, I don't have a clue. So, I dunno. I suppose my focus is becoming more split. I'm pursuing more things, and as such am not obsessively working on the same things I did two years ago. 'Course, now I'm not finishing anything...blar. Whatever, fuck it, I'll come back to this discussion, or not...shit, I did not see the irony of that switch until just now..."irony" really is an often ill-used word... Anyway, I changed the header stuff I mentioned before, and also tweaked the filler section of GA, so that the "first" and "most recent" buttons stay within the filler itself, making it into a separate entity within the comic, sorta. Yep, good times. |

Saturday, April 5, 2008--2:38 AMPages six and seven of Group Anthrax have actually been up for awhile now. Bit of a delay on page eight, I've been working rather slowly, of late. Gargh. Drawing class is kinda kicking my ass lately, I've got a shitload of work to do before the thirtieth. On top of that, I got pretty behind after Spring Break, since I didn't prepare for it properly, or work the way I should've then. Blargh. I'm so stupidly tired tonight.
But yeah. I think I'm gonna put GA on hiatus until the first Tuesday of May, to give me time to work through the homework shit, and hopefully build a comic buffer. Blargh. Rar. |
